By Confucius
Categories: Religion & Spirituality
The Analects is a collection of the sayings and conversations of Confucius, the Chinese teacher and philosopher of the sixth and fifth centuries BC, compiled by his disciples and their followers after his death. Arranged in twenty short books, it records Confucius's views on virtue, ritual, filial piety, learning and good government, and his ideal of the junzi, or exemplary person. The Analects became a central text of Confucianism and shaped Chinese education and ethics for more than two thousand years.
