The Buried Giant (2015) is Kazuo Ishiguro's seventh novel, set in post-Arthurian Britain. Axl and Beatrice, an elderly Briton couple, leave their village to look for the son they barely remember, in a land where a strange mist makes everyone forget the past. On the way they meet a Saxon warrior, a boy marked by an ogre's bite and the aging Sir Gawain, and the journey asks whether some memories of war and wrongdoing are better forgotten.
