The Catcher in the Rye

By J. D. Salinger

Categories: Literature & Fiction

Holden Caulfield is a native New Yorker, an "ancient child of sixteen." He leaves his prep school in Pennsylvania and, instead of heading home, disappears into New York City for three days. Told in Holden's own restless, funny, and wounded voice, J. D. Salinger's novel follows him as he drifts through the city, and captures the confusion of growing up.
