The Complete Maus (1996) by cartoonist Art Spiegelman brings together both volumes of his comics account of his father's survival of the Holocaust. Spiegelman draws Jews as mice and Germans as cats while recording his father Vladek's memories of life in Poland, the ghettos and Auschwitz. Alongside that story he shows his own strained relationship with his father in New York and his struggle to turn the history into a book.
