The Dignity of Difference (2002) is Rabbi Jonathan Sacks's response to the attacks of September 11, 2001, and to the fear that globalization would lead to a clash of civilizations. Sacks argues that the world's religions must learn to see difference as a blessing rather than a threat, and that the same God can be understood in many traditions. He applies that idea to globalization, economic inequality, the environment and conflict, setting out ethics of conversation and responsibility for a shared world.
