The Diversity Myth
Categories: Politics & Social Sciences
Written by two recent Stanford graduates, The Diversity Myth argues that the campus push for multiculturalism in the early 1990s had become a new orthodoxy that limited debate. David Sacks and Peter Thiel examine Stanford's changes to its Western culture curriculum, its speech codes and residence life. They contend that diversity programs promoted conformity rather than open inquiry. The book became an early text in later arguments over political correctness and free speech on college campuses.
