The Great Brain
Categories: Children's Books, Literature & Fiction
The Great Brain (1967) is the first novel in John D. Fitzgerald's children's series set in early-1900s Adenville, Utah, a Mormon frontier town. Narrated by younger brother J.D., it follows Tom Fitzgerald, a sharp, profit-minded boy who outthinks adults and schoolmates with schemes, bets and practical jokes. The stories mix small-town mischief with loyalty among the Fitzgerald brothers and the costs of Tom's cleverness.
