The Little Book of Common Sense Investing
Categories: Business & Money
John C. Bogle, the founder of Vanguard, makes the case for a simple investment strategy: buy and hold a low-cost index fund that tracks a broad stock market index such as the S&P 500. First published in 2007 and later updated, the book explains how fees, taxes and the costs of active trading erode returns, and why most actively managed funds fail to beat the market over time. Bogle argues that ordinary investors do best by owning the whole market and holding it for the long term.
