The Little Prince
By Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Categories: Literature & Fiction, Teen & Young Adult
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's novella, written and illustrated by the author and first published in 1943, begins when a pilot crashes in the Sahara with little food or water. There he meets a small boy who asks him to draw a sheep. The little prince explains that he comes from a tiny asteroid and describes his journey across other planets, his encounters with strange adults and his love for a rose. Though written like a children's book, it reflects on loneliness, friendship, love and loss.
