The Man with the Golden Typewriter: Ian Fleming's James Bond Letters

By Ian Fleming, Fergus Fleming

Categories: Arts & Photography, Biographies & Memoirs

Edited by his nephew Fergus Fleming, this collection gathers Ian Fleming's letters about creating James Bond. Its chapters follow the books from Casino Royale to The Man with the Golden Gun, with sections devoted to his exchanges with Raymond Chandler and with the firearms specialist who advised him on Bond's guns. The correspondence shows Fleming dealing with publishers, friends and readers, answering complaints about factual slips, defending his plots and characters and managing the business side of a hugely popular series of spy novels.
