In The Mystery of the Moss-Covered Mansion (1941), a friend of Carson Drew's is charged with sending a truck loaded with explosive oranges into the space center at Cape Kennedy. Certain that Mr. Billington could not be guilty of sabotage, Nancy and her father take up his defense. Their investigation leads to a spooky old mansion whose grounds house African wild animals, and Nancy soon suspects that something besides animal training is going on there.
