The Postcard (2021) is a novel by French writer Anne Berest that traces her family's history through the Holocaust. In 2003, an anonymous postcard arrives at her mother's home bearing only the names of four relatives who died at Auschwitz in 1942. Years later, Anne sets out to discover who sent it, reconstructing the lives of her Russian Jewish ancestors who settled in France and what happened to them under the Nazi occupation.
