The Power of Mindful Learning
Categories: Education & Teaching
The Power of Mindful Learning (1997) by Harvard psychologist Ellen J. Langer challenges common assumptions about how people learn. Langer argues that ideas such as learning basics until they become automatic, paying attention by sitting motionless and delaying gratification can undermine real learning. Drawing on her research, she shows how presenting information conditionally and encouraging new perspectives makes learning more creative and effective.
