The Respondent: Exposing the Cartel of Family Law (2021) is a memoir by actor Greg Ellis about the March 2015 phone call that began his divorce and cost him regular contact with his children. Ellis tells how he was removed from his home and pulled into a long custody fight. Part memoir and part argument, the book claims the American family-court system is biased against fathers and harms children, and offers guidance to parents going through separation.
