The Return of Depression Economics and the Crisis of 2008
By Paul Krugman
Categories: Business & Money
The Return of Depression Economics and the Crisis of 2008 is economist Paul Krugman's revised and expanded edition of his 1999 book on financial crises, published in 2008. Krugman revisits the crises in Latin America, Japan and Asia in the 1990s and argues that they were warnings of problems that later spread to the United States, from the housing bubble to the shadow banking system. He calls for government action to restore demand and reform financial regulation.
