The Sneetches and Other Stories
By Dr. Seuss
Categories: Children's Books
Dr. Seuss's 1961 collection contains four rhyming stories. In the title tale, the Star-Belly Sneetches look down on those without stars until Sylvester McMonkey McBean arrives with a machine that adds or removes them for a price. "The Zax" features two stubborn creatures who refuse to step aside, "Too Many Daves" tells of a mother who named all twenty-three of her sons Dave, and "What Was I Scared Of?" follows a narrator spooked by a pair of empty pants.

- Barack Obama: “Like I'm still a big Dr. Seuss fan. I was into that. The “sneetches”, and “Horton”, and all that stuff.”
