The Tooth Fairy is a 1996 novel by British writer Graham Joyce, a winner of the British Fantasy Award. It is a dark coming-of-age story set in England in the 1960s. After seven-year-old Sam loses a tooth, he wakes to find the Tooth Fairy in his room, not a gentle sprite but a strange, unpredictable, and sometimes menacing creature that only he can see. As Sam and his friends grow into adolescence, the Tooth Fairy keeps returning, changing along with him.
