A bristly beard full of old food and a glass eye belong to Mr. and Mrs. Twit, the revolting pair at the center of Roald Dahl's 1980 comic tale, who spend their days playing nasty tricks on each other, from a frog in the bed to worms in the spaghetti. They also smear glue on a tree to catch birds for Bird Pie and force their pet monkeys, the Muggle-Wumps, to stand on their heads, until the Roly-Poly Bird helps the animals fight back.
