The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
By Patanjali
Categories: Religion & Spirituality
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali is a foundational text of yoga philosophy, a collection of short aphorisms traditionally credited to the ancient Indian sage Patanjali. Its four chapters set out the nature and aims of yoga, describing the mind and its fluctuations, the practices that lead to concentration and meditation, and the goal of liberation. It describes the eight limbs of yoga, from ethical restraints and observances to posture, breath control and meditative absorption.
