Timaeus
By Plato
Categories: Politics & Social Sciences
After a brief opening that introduces the story of Atlantis, Plato gave most of this dialogue to an account by Timaeus of Locri of how the cosmos came to be. A divine craftsman shapes the world as a living being, modeled on an eternal pattern. Timaeus explains the elements in terms of geometric solids and moves on to the structure of the human body, the senses and disease.
