War Against All Puerto Ricans: Revolution and Terror in America's Colony
Categories: History, Politics & Social Sciences
In War Against All Puerto Ricans (2015), former New York State Assemblyman Nelson A. Denis tells the history of Puerto Rico under United States rule, centred on the Nationalist revolt of 1950 and its leader, Pedro Albizu Campos. Denis describes the colonial economy, the surveillance of thousands of Puerto Ricans by the FBI, the repression of the independence movement and the imprisonment of Albizu Campos. He argues that these events have been left out of the American historical record.
