Categories: Biographies & Memoirs, Politics & Social Sciences
The first volume of Henry Kissinger's memoirs, published in 1979, covers his years as national security adviser to President Richard Nixon, from January 1969 to January 1973. He recounted the opening to China, arms control negotiations with the Soviet Union, the Vietnam War and the Paris peace talks, and crises in the Middle East and South Asia, and he set out his view of statecraft and the balance of power.
