Winning at Retail: Developing a Sustained Model for Retail Success
By Willard N. Ander, Neil Z. Stern
Categories: Business & Money
Winning at Retail (2004) is a business book by McMillan Doolittle consultants Willard N. Ander and Neil Z. Stern on how retailers stay relevant over the long term. Based on research into companies such as Target, H&M, the Gap, Nordstrom, Walgreens and Costco, they argue that winners dominate one position, whether lowest price, biggest assortment, hottest fashion, easiest solutions or quickest service, rather than drifting into the "treacherous middle." The book sets out a framework for choosing that position and building a retail business around it.
