You Are Worth It: Building a Life Worth Fighting For
Categories: Biographies & Memoirs
On November 21, 2010, in Afghanistan's Helmand Province, Marine Lance Corporal Kyle Carpenter threw himself on an enemy grenade to shield fellow Marine Nick Eufrazio. Written with Don Yaeger, his memoir recounts the blast, which cost him his right eye and most of his jaw, and the dozens of surgeries that followed. Carpenter describes rebuilding his life after nearly three years in and out of hospitals, and organizes the book around the personal credos that guided his recovery and continue to shape how he lives.
