By Edward Luce

Categories: Biographies & Memoirs, History

Zbig (2025) is journalist Edward Luce's biography of Zbigniew Brzezinski, the Polish-born scholar who served as Jimmy Carter's national security adviser from 1977 to 1981. Luce follows Brzezinski from his childhood as a diplomat's son and his flight from Europe to his academic career and rivalry with Henry Kissinger. He examines Brzezinski's role in the Camp David Accords, normalisation with China and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, and his later warnings about American foreign policy.
