Lee Smith (novelist)

Lee Smith is a novelist who was born in Grundy, Virginia, in 1944 and often sets her fiction in Appalachia. Her novels include Oral History (1983) and Fair and Tender Ladies (1988), and she taught at North Carolina State University until 2003.
