Blink
Categories: Business & Money
In Blink (2005), journalist Malcolm Gladwell examines the decisions people make in an instant, the rapid judgements that happen in the blink of an eye and that often turn out to be more complex than they appear. Gladwell calls this ability thin-slicing and illustrates it with a psychologist who predicts divorce from minutes of conversation and art experts who sense a forged statue. He also looks at when snap judgements fail, as in the shooting of Amadou Diallo by police.
