Man on Wire
Categories: Biographies & Memoirs
Philippe Petit recounts the six years of planning behind his August 1974 high-wire walk between the twin towers of the World Trade Center. He describes scouting the buildings, recruiting accomplices and overcoming repeated setbacks. Strung about 1,350 feet above the street, the wire carried Petit back and forth eight times before police took him into custody. His account captures the obsession and risk behind the feat.

- Seth Godin: “Petit is an artist, someone living an adventure through his actions. His life is a gift to us, and this book, as much as the movie, will encourage and provoke you.”
