Non-Violent Resistance (Satyagraha)
Categories: History, Politics & Social Sciences
This collection gathers Mahatma Gandhi's writings on satyagraha, the form of nonviolent resistance he developed and led. Edited by Bharatan Kumarappa, the volume appeared in 1951 and it presents Gandhi's own explanations of the idea, which translates roughly as truth-force. The selections set out the principles behind the idea and show how Gandhi treated nonviolence as an active force in political struggle rather than a passive stance.
