The Andy Warhol Diaries
By Andy Warhol
Categories: Biographies & Memoirs
The Andy Warhol Diaries collects the entries Andy Warhol dictated by phone to his collaborator Pat Hackett from November 1976 until shortly before his death in 1987. He began the practice to keep track of expenses after an IRS audit, narrating the previous day's events each weekday morning. Edited by Hackett from a typescript of some 20,000 pages, the book records Warhol's daily life, social world, business dealings and artistic concerns, and his place in the art, fashion and celebrity scenes of his time.
