Sojourner Truth

Sojourner Truth was an abolitionist and women's rights speaker who delivered the 1851 Akron address remembered as Ain't I a Woman? Born enslaved as Isabella Baumfree in New York around 1797, she escaped in 1826 and recruited Black Union troops.
